Piercing through mountains, crawling between undergrounds, winding along valleys, while tunnels bridge traffic network to a wider distance, they are almost blind from mobile signals under most circumstance. To plan for a coverage solution for the whole tunnel, highway, or railway, it shall follow the belt-like roads to deploy one by one continuously. But a main problem for tunnel coverage is how to ensure a stable signal to be used in a mobile terminal at a high-speed.




Usually, we will firstly need the engineering drawing of the whole tunnel to understand the layout, length, etc. and find base for our solution. Secondly, distance from the nearest BTS and access way are required to define whether to use direct coupling from base station or wireless reception of the source signal. Thirdly, by taking advice from customers our engineer can better perfect the whole coverage solution.


Solution Fiber Optic Repeater/DAS:

  • Generally in such complicated coverage environment of tunnel, we recommend Multi-band DAS to realize coverage. The fiber Optic Repeater can better adjustable to the tunnel scenario and transmit stable signal through fiber optical cable. The Master Unit of our MDAS can support up to 4 Remote Units at the same time, adopting less cables and improving coverage efficiency. For the coverage side, the service antenna and leaky cable are all optional. It facilitates a more flexible RF network design in actual installation.
